Defining
the Main Terms That I Use
Realistic
Realistic
something
portrayed in a way that we would normally see it, creating something
that looks real in every aspect from proportion, material,
composition and lighting. Realistic Images look like the object they
represent but leave very little to the imagination.
Simplistic
Reduction
of a complex object to a more simple form with less going on but
still being able to effectively visually represent the object.
Simplistic Images need to simply imply that an object is what it is,
leaving much of the visuals open to interpretation and imagination.
Abstract
Something
that trends towards expression and does not have to use realistic or
simplistic visuals, it simply has to be something that wouldn't
normally be seen and is visually engaging, often abstract imagery has
a strong meaning influencing the visuals.
Mood
The
ability for colours, light and composition to evoke a feeling and
convey meaning within any artistic medium.
Faceted
the juxtaposition of geometric planar forms to create contrast and depth. Visually linking to Cubism and the way scenes within it are represented.
